II. CITY EVENTS REPORT (Senator Janu)
- Past events
Jin and Ras led a convivium at the Palace, with dancing, games, and a recitation; The Pontifex Maximus dedicated the new Temple of Mithras and inaugurated Pontifex Ulrik. Both events drew around 20 people; Ixion has given two guided tours of Romanvm, drawing 6 people. This is a good opportunity to attract visitors.
- Future events: Dedication of the Temple of Venus, and Inauguration of Talos as Flamen 14 June @ 1pm.
Second Pride is 14-23 June: I am very grateful to Prince Jin, and Tribunes Ras, Ruggeris amd Popov for all the hard work they have put in, to transform a spacious but ugly warehouse into a spectacle. Thanks also to my partner Braxx, for his suggestions. I hope you will take time to visit the Pavilion.. Also, Senator Tybalt has a couple of DJ slots, on the Thursday and Sunday. Watch for notices.
The Neptunalia Festival will be late July. It will include a ceremony, celebration, and blessing of fountains. If you have other ideas, please contact me.
- The official calendar
We have started sending a weekly list of events to groups outside Romanvm, and also in Empire and VIP Groups. It's important to keep the calendar up to date
- What can you do?
Volunteer to give guided tours of the City. I would like to recruit guides fluent in languages other than English; (Ixion Parthicus Ἰξίων Παρθίκος: The guided tours are already being conducted at the moment on Thursdays at 2pm, a fun way to introduce newcomers and current citizens to places they may not know. All welcome, and volunteer guides wanted to)
Spend an hour or two, at our Pride Pavilion, to talk to visitors. This is a chance to encourage visitors;
Would you like to help organise Mr Romanvm, in the autumn?This is a contest to judge talent and good looks;
Would you like to open your house for a few hours? You could hold a dance, a dinner, ar a chat. We are happy to help arrange this;
Would you like to host a wrestling event at the Gymnasium? Or another sporting event?
Zarek Antonius: Not specific to this list of events but i have seen some random signs left over from the Olympics and other events. Who is tasked with cleaning those up - around the city?
Booker Beningborough: Please send me a list and I can do that.
ƛԼЄҲƖ ŔƠMƛƝƠѴ-ƤӇƠЄƝƖҲ : i have been cleaning these old signs up as i find them , searching all over..Please tell me where they are Zarek and I can do this as well. done
Tybalt Caproni: Some stuff always gets lost Or randomly misplaced or over looked. Alexi can send it back. Or I can in Rom 1 & V if accidental items are found
III. TRIBUNATE REPORT (Ras Parthicus)
We the Tribunes and Plebeians of Romanum also pray for our beloved Emperor Stephanus Galtier and his husband RegulusAntius Rufus, to ensure continued recovery and early return to Romanum. Ita Est
Welcome Centre Matters
Upgrading the free outfit in the giveaway kits at the Welcome Centre - A basic, modest toga that Identifies Romanum/SPQR has been produced that should fit 6 different types of mesh body. Some views were raised at the last Plebeian Assembly regarding availability and design and these will be taken up with the Emperor/Consuls before a final decision is made on what to include in the gift pack. (I am still trying to source a full perm edition of an niramyth/aesthetic outfit and one to fit classic avatars. )
Attendance at the Welcome Centre to greet new visitors: An ongoing matter - It is to be hoped that Tribunes and Senators will take the opportunity to greet visitors to the Romanum Welcome Centre.
Displays: Notecards that briefly describe the duties of the different official positions on display, are being affixed.
Notices About Upcoming Events: Following suggestions at the last Plebeian meeting, a number of noticeboards have been erected at the entrance to the Welcome Centre to highlight coming events. The front of the Welcome Centre has also been made more visible with larger candles and Banners.
Video Competition: A final draft entry form for the Video Competition has very recently been forwarded to the Leadership Group. Issues covered include permissions for music in a submission and copyright. Prize winning videos will primarily be shown in the Romanum Welcome Centre but they may also be shown to a wider audience in lands and times distant from ours.
Servi/Slave Group: Tribune Rugger reports that the drafts of the two policy documents are nearing final completion.
As well as their own private work/matters in Romanum, Tribunes are also involved in supporting RLF and fitting out a storefront for Pride.
We have a person in training for the scribe position. It is to be hoped that he takes a shine to the work.
The next meeting of the Plebeian Assembly will be held 23rd June 2019 (time and Venue to be confirmed).
Ruggeris Britannicus : The two draft documents covering 1. The slave overview and 2. the guidelines for slaves in Romanum are nearing completion. The consuls will decide when to publish these upon completion, but it seems that the date will not be too far off.
IV. UPDATE ON THE EMPEROR'S ABSENCE OF LEAVE
Sƚҽϝ Eɳԃɾιαɠσ Oƈƚαʋιυʂ Dɾαƙσɳ: As you all know, the Emperor is on a leave of absence to take care of his RL/SL husband Regulus. With that said, there is no estimated date on when he plans to return back to active status. Although he may pop in from time to time, please continue to communicate issues to Rad, the proconsuls or myself.
V. ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR
Gaius Antigos: there are women renting in Pompeii...and it might be good if someone would remind them of the no-rent-rule. I did not have the heart earlier, they are busy making up the house extremly nice but its unfair to let them get settled and not telling them?
Sƚҽϝ Eɳԃɾιαɠσ Oƈƚαʋιυʂ Dɾαƙσɳ: I will look into and address the matter.
Miles Maximus: I believe Strymon is going to take care of the women in Pompeii, but he is handling the RFL activities at the moment.
Cato Leone: As I have now have been blessed to be returned to full(ER) time on-line, I have spoken with the Emperor & Flamen Sky of Bacchus and the PM. Beginning this coming Thursday 8-10AM SLT the Bacchus Cult will be holding an additional weekly Set called "Throbbing Thursdays @ Bacchus" to help bring a bit more exposure & excitement to the Cult. As per the OK of the Emperor, it has been added to the schedule.
Meeting adjourned.
Next Senate meeting Sunday 14JUL2019 at 11:00am
