I. OPENING REMARKS BY THE EMPEROR
Emperor Stephanus Galtier: Before we go to the agenda, I wanted to say a few words. As you all know this month Romanum will celebrate 10 years since our grand opening. That is quite an accomplishment in SL. And we achieved it because of our leadership, but also all who live and play here. All who have contributed time and energy and, yes, finances. I have already sent word out many avenues about our upcoming anniversary celebrations. I hope we have a lot of people here. I must admit, I am concerned about the stress we all face in RL regarding the coronavirus pandemic and I hope we can all remain healthy and as unstressed as possible. I have also made some exciting updates to our website including, finally, photos from 10 years back to today and videos. Once we have completed the celebrations, we begin our second decade. Our second decade will only be successful with all your support and the support of even more people, new people. Romanum will always require new ideas and refreshed energy. I want to welcome to this chamber our dear friend and brother, Senator Tybalt and to emphasizes our deep love for him. With that said, I relinquish the floor.
II. CITY EVENTS
Janu Shimada Vindelici: My aims in planning this calendar of events have been to show off Romanvm’s glories, to encourage new residents, and most important, to have fun!! I'm grateful to all those who have attended meetings, accommodated switches, and given ideas. There will be updates, and we plan to issue daily notices in Rom and in other groups. I know Tribune Dax has already spotted one of my errors.
Dax Vayandar Skytower Parthicus: I have an addition to the list of celebration events: The Tribunes will host a "Roman History Quiz" on Sunday, March 15, from 9-10 am SLT, at the Pompeii Theatre. Prizes will be awarded.
Velkian: I have 2 questions. First I may have missed somewhere was there a change of PM? Confused why the PM is listed for opening ceremony different.
Janu Shimada Vindelici: Petrus is also listed. I've not heard from the PM, what he plans to do.
Velkian: Second, and maybe guess the answer is gonna be corona, how come no Roman orgy in the events ?
Janu Shimada Vindelici: Thanks. No-one has offered to organise an orgy. There is still time for a volunteer.
Ariel Vindelici: Are there still slots left?
Janu Shimada Vindelici: "Volunteer" is a word that causes total silence. There are, Ariel, did you get the updated calendar?
ƤЄƬƦƲƧ ƓƝƛЄƲƧ ƤƠMƤЄƖƲƧ: I've spoken to the PM When it comes time he makes the opening if not I do it
Ruggeris Britannicus: There are many exciting large events here, but I just want to speak up to encourage people to come to one of the minor ones: The prayers to Apollo. Valerius conducts some of the most beautiful services I've seen here.
Janu Shimada Vindelici: Valerius is a credit to the priesthood. Can I remind you all that we will be looking for competitors. Popov is asking for pictures, and Ras is leading on poetry. And those with spare lindens could join the list of sponsors. Does anyone want to say more about the Anniversary?
Tybalt Caproni: Over the next few weeks I still will have limited anderratic availability in SL. Butwill be working Nero, Alexi, Miles & Jonny to ensure planned events for areas I am responsible for go ahead if I am not able to be in world. Some of my planned events will be put in their very capable hands if I cannot attend.
III. TRIBUNATE REPORT
Popov Huldschinsky: We, the Tribunes, like to inform the present gentlemen of our last meeting with the Plebeians Assembly on Sunday, 23rd February. During this meeting certain points were raised of which, five will be presented to this assembly if it could bear it:
I. A sincere wish from one of the attendees was put forward to the Tribunate but, in due respect to the learned gentlemen, we will not elaborate.
II. Our dearest Director of Theatre, Prince JinFloreo Karu has, once more, been asking for actors concerning his founding play which, unfortunately and due to ill-health has now been postpone to a further date. Nonetheless, his request still stands as well as a need for dancers for the cabaret play planed for March, 29th. As far as possible the Tribunate members will participate in these events.
III. Xth Anniversary Celebration. Tribunes announced the events which they will held during and for the coming celebration.
a. A quiz on the history of Rome from the Republic to the Empire.
b. A Slave and goods auction whose raised funds will be donated to a charity chosen by our glorious Emperor.
c. Two competitions:
1) An art competition for which entries are steadily coming although, there is still time to submit yours.
2) A ‘guess who’ competition for which portraits are being worked on. Both competitions will be rewarded.
IV. Plebeians were informed of the opening of two new attractions in Romanum:
a. A race course, open to all citizens and Friends of Romanum as well as visitor to these Realms. This race course, set up by Ras Parthicus is situated in Pompeii and allows horse and foot races to be run.
b. An Herbarium — “Institutum Romanum Imperium de Urologia et Prostatae Scientia and Garden shrine to the Goddess Flora” — will be opening.
V. The tribunate was informed about a non-conforming building situated on Romanum soil, although it was reported that the eyesore had been removed. Plebeians were comforted knowing the tribunes would be watching in the future.
This conclude any matters raised at this aforementioned Plebeians Assembly Meeting. We, the Tribunes, are looking forward to the 10th anniversary celebration combined with the Olympics Games. However, our tasks in the future will be turned toward the next ten years of Romanum. Long live Romanum and our dearest Emperor!
