I. TRIBUNE MEETING REPORT by Tribune Leader Ras Parthicus:
We continue to pray for the good health of the Emperor's husband Regulus - and all our citizens who maybe ill afflicted - may they return to good health soon.
Video competition: An amended entry form for the Video Competition was issued through the two Romanum groups on 1 July. No entries have been received to date.
PRIDE 2019: The Romanum Pavilion at PRIDE is open till early 2020 and still attracts visitors. One thing that does need to be followed up is that we have the Pavilion for 10 months - what else can we do there that will attract more people to Romanum.
Neptunalia: The Plebeian Assembly passed a motion of congratulations to the Flamen and Pontifex of Neptune for a well organised week of events for Neptunalia. And our thanks also to Tribune Ruggeris for a well organised Neptunalia hunt!
Role Play: Ideas raised at the last Plebeian Assembly that are being followed-up. Chariots - more public fun & participation (RP betting, a "dark"charioteer to boo etc), chariot mechanics. Horse racing meetings - citizens using their own horses. Sim for using huds on. Encouraging citizens to attend regular thanksgivings/ceremonies to the Gods at the many Temples in Romanum
Home visits - programme for organised visits to Romanum Homes, institutions and businesses. In this regards patricians and citizens are invited to nominate their properties for visits. Hosts are asked to be present and able to provide assistance to visitors.
All the above suggestions are IC related.
The next meeting of the Plebeian Assembly will be held 25 August 2019 at 8am SLT in the Pompeii Court House. Your attendance is always welcome
Ruggeris Britannicus : If I could just fill out that last item a little: big RP events are one thing, but the thought is, we can enhance RP generally in many little ways, slightly adding to regular events so we were thinking about how we can encourage people to give added value to the regular events with small RP additions.
Caylix Octavius Azúcar: My father, Senator Nero, for whom I am proxy today, did want to highlight the success of religious ceremonies recently and encourage the collegivm pontificum to continue the good work!
Tybalt Caproni: Have been talking a bit to Ras and know of suggestions and ideas to create more interest or variety for chariots spectators there. Actually I’ve been wanting to try a few things. So some ideas I think are going to be tried or worked on just for fun and interest anyway as tech and lag an interest allows.
II. CITY EVENTS REPORT by Senator Janu Shimada Vindelici
Past events: Neptunalia started in 19 July. Thanks to Rector Tybalt, Senator Petrus and Tribune Ruggeris for arranging special events.
Future events: Mr Romanum will take place in the autumn, if enough people are willing to assist. Saturnalia will be in December.
III. ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR
Ix Parthicus ἸΞΊΩΝ ΠΑΡΘΙΚΟΣ: regards the pride pavilion, i think it is important to have external SL presence - is the lag still bad there?
Ras Parthicus: Lag at Pride is much like the hippodrome sometimes it gets me in the proverbials, no problems at all and it doesn’t seem to matter how many are there.
Ruggeris Britannicus :I believe we ought to have other external presences to publicise Romanum ideally also, which is something else we might think about looking into. Although, interestingly the number of visitors to our Welcome Centre recently is surprisingly high.
Ras Parthicus: 683 visitors since middle of June
Sir HELIOS of Dacia : as some may have noticed the park to Trajan is near completion and my family will dedicate this park to all of Romanum
Jonny: re attracting newcomers, i think we could emphasize the existence of ooc events to encourage people to attend - e.g. Club Romanum gives a good sense of the kinds of parties we have and how much fun they are
Tybalt Caproni: we have to have limits on being ooc on the ground level events though or it becomes disruptive visually. I try & balance that a little but think Roman continuity on the visually accessible ground level is important.
Meeting adjourned.
Next Senate meeting: Sunday 8 SEP at 11:00am SLT
Gratitude,
Ix Parthicus ἸΞΊΩΝ ΠΑΡΘΙΚΟΣ
