I. INTERNAL SENATE ISSUES
The first item on the agenda to be discussed was the concern of excessive posting of notices in the various groups and was brought to the Senate floor by Janu Shimada Octavius. The purpose was relating to notices relating more to intra family issues as well as dances being posted in the Romanum RP group.
It was resolved that that the rule of posting in Romanum groups for specific events is to be reiterated with the punishment for violating the policy being the ability to post be removed.
II. TRIBUNE MEETING REPORT
The second item on the agenda to be discussed was the Tribune Meeting Report and was brought to the Senate floor by Tribune Lead Popov Huldschinsky who gave the report as follows:
“We, the Tribunes, like to inform the present distinguished gentries of our last meeting with the Plebeian Assembly on Sunday, 27th September 2020.
In the course of this meeting certain points were raised of which, some will be presented to this assembly if it could bear it, we will also elaborate further on developments since the aforementioned meeting: the first item raised will reiterate the previous concern and is about the overwhelming amount of advertising one is now receiving for a single event. It was notified that up to 12 notifications could be received by anyone belonging to the two of the Romanum groups and one of the Pompeii groups. Evidently and unfortunately, apart from the annoyance this excessive information may cause, it, eventually, will be detrimental to special events or important information. Maybe this chamber could see to a fair solution.
The second Item which was brought back to actuality, was the use of the zCS system either than for fighting but, for civilian use. Whoever is wearing the zCS meter would have noticed, if the sim is set in such a way, that coins are given. Although these are ‘mock’ money and have no real value in SL economy. Nonetheless, these coins could be used and therefore promote RP, should a secondary economy be created.
Good ideas were given by Plebeians and the Tribunate will discuss them during their next private meeting. During the aforementioned meeting, efforts in increase of religious events were acknowledged and saluted. We would take this opportunity to thank Senator Petrus and all the Priests for their dedication. Nevertheless, it was also noticed that these events were not quite as proliferous as the new temples and their priests. Also, questions were raised concerning alternative Cults. Since only official Cults were advertised, any others were unknown though, some rumour was going around about a secret Cult organising events. This concludes any matters raised at this aforementioned Plebeians Assembly Meeting and the next Plebeian Assembly Meeting will be held on Sunday, 25th October 2020. We thank you for your attention and patience, should you have any questions the present Tribunes will be pleased to answer.”
Returning to a point later in the Senate meeting (inserted here in conjunction with the subject matter), the Tribune Lead, Popov Huldschinsky, stated on the subject of Cults and prayers, some Citizens asked if anyone was allowed to pray inside a Temple. Unfortunately, and after discussion, no concrete answer was provided. With the Tribunate still investigating on that subject.
Imperator Stephanus Galtier voiced his opinion stating: “I say yes” but that the Senate would provide an answer to the Tribune Lead.
Turning to other matters, the Imperator advised that Romanum is about one month from when he would announce the elections for the 2021 Tribunes and expressed his hopes that Romanum could have good candidates for that important body.
Further, the Imperator advised that a few years ago a group was created for those players interested in a more robust discussion of Role Play in Romanum. Technically, the main group, the Empire of Romanum, is a Role Play group for all citizens but the Romanum Role Play group was setup to discuss roleplay more actively including ideas of events and Role Play scenarios. The Imperator stated that he recently assumed leadership of that group after Senator Zarek Antonius's years of service. Meetings are held on the second Saturday of month and that more information on this group and its mission will be sent out.
III. UPCOMING CITY EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
The third item on the agenda to be discussed was the cancellation of the 2020 Mr Romanum contest as well as all future contests of Mr Romanum and was brought to the Senate floor by Imperator Stephanus Galtier.
The Imperator began by first thanking Syrus Etchegaray in particular for the work he put into preparing for the Mr. Romanum contest which included the building of a venue and organizing the event. Further, thanks went to the Etchegaray family for the generous prize that they raised for the contest.
It was noted that Syrus had recruited judges for the event and while some contestants had entered the contestants were insufficient to sustain the contest and make it viable. Consequently, and with agreement of Syrus Etchegaray, the need to cancel the event was taken by the Imperator. As the interest has diminished, the contest will regrettably not be held in future.
Turning to another matter to be discussed under this agenda item was the organisation of an upcoming Role Play event called “Capture the Flag” and was brought to the Senate floor by Asharr Galtier reporting from the Role Play meeting held. The purpose of this item was to discuss this event which was to take place between Romanum and Pompeii and to reinforce that it in no way was organised to foster animosity between Romanum and Pompeii.
It was stated by Asharr Galitier that this Role Play event was about promoting combat within both cities and will extend over four sims from Romanum to Pompeii for the combat. A full notecard would be sent out shortly after which questions could be directed to Asharr Galtier regarding this event. The date of this Role Play event is yet to be determined to fit into the existing events calendar and shall take the existing events into consideration.
Turning to another matter to be discussed under this agenda item was the organisation of an upcoming “Naked Romanum / Pompeii Calendar for 2021” and was brought to the Senate floor by Asharr Galtier reporting from the Role Play meeting held. Asharr Galtier noted that Velkian would be organising this calendar and will ask for models most likely in November 2020 after which he would decide who would be the models and arrange to take photographs for the calendar as well as the calendar itself.
IV. CALL FOR FLAMENS
The fourth item on the agenda to be discussed was the call for Flamen and was brought to the Senate floor by Leo Galtier Leone-Parthicus. The purpose of this was to address the need for Flamen as well as the frequency of Temple Services.
Imperator Stephanus Galtier stated that even though many Temple Flamen positions were filled more Flamen were still required. I will work with Petrus to update that list and send out requests for my volunteers to be flamens. Done
It was resolved that that the Imperator would work with Petrus Gnaeus Pompeius to update the list of Flamen still needed and distribute it along with a request for volunteers to fill those positions.
The discussions continued with Janu Shimada Octavius requesting if the Pontifices and Flamens appointed were committed to holding services each week. It was noted by the Imperator that discussions were underway regarding the possibility of requiring Temple prayers to only be held once a month rather than once a week. It was suggested by Prince Jin Galtier Parthicus that every other week for prayers may be better but it was pleaded by Senator Petrus Gnaeus Pompeius that once a month be set rather than every other week due to the volume of duties between Romanum and Pompeii.
Moving to a question from Asharr Galtier, the question related to whether there was any requirements Cult Leaders such as those for Flamen. It was replied by the Imperator that he and the Pontifex Maximus had not discussed Cult Leaders before but stated his view that requirements be contained to that of Flamen that report to the Pontifex Maximus only.
V. BUSINESS FROM THE SENATE FLOOR
The fifth item on the agenda to be discussed was any other business from the Senate floor.
Imperator Stephanus Galtier addressed three items in turn.
The Imperator first congratulated his son, Prince Jin Galtier Parthicus, and his new son-in-law, Senator Ras Galtier Parthicus, on their wedding. It was noted to be a very successful event and it had united the Galtier and Parthicus families in a special way as well as that of the wedding of Leo and Connor Galtier Leone-Parthicus.
Prince Jin and Senator Ras Galtier Parthicus each expressed their thanks for the congratulations of the Imperator.
Turning to his second item, the Imperator then asked everyone to think good thoughts for our dear brother and fellow Senator Cato. The Imperator explained that Senator Cato had been facing some difficulties lately and asked to be kind to him when you see him.
Turning to his third item, the Imperator stated that he was happy to report that Ariel had agreed to be the new captain for Romanum's Swim Club which Myklos had started.
